Youth For Ministry

The youth ministry at First Baptist Church of Troy points teens to Christ and helps them become more like him as they learn to joyfully use their gifts to serve the church family and the broader community.

Our youth pastor and his wife are joined by nine other adult teachers who meet with young people on Sundays and Wednesdays for classes and small group Bible studies. The department is divided into junior high and senior high groups so each age group’s special needs can be addressed.

Youth activities are scheduled about once a month for both fellowship and outreach. Teens are encouraged to bring friends to these events, introducing them to both the youth group and the Gospel. We also schedule Sunday evening fellowships that include a time of singing and personal testimony.

Our teens have many opportunities to serve with their peers or alongside the adults of the church, in ministries such as orchestra, choir, nursery, door-to-door evangelism, and mission trips.

We desire to train spiritually mature young people who demonstrate a personal thirst for God’s word, a passion to be more like him, and a burden to win the lost for Christ.
